Disable Download History in Firefox

Posted on July 24, 2008. Filed under: Firefox | Tags: |

By default, when you download some files in Firefox, it will keep a history of files you have downloaded and you need to manually delete the history. Sometimes it can be embarrassing when the other person looks at the files you have downloaded, as it happened to me once :( . But there is a option in Firefox by which you can disable the download history to be created. This has definitely saved me in many situations from being in trouble. To disable this feature follow these simple steps.

  1. Open Firefox, and go to Tools –> Options
  2. Click the Privacy tab, and look for Remember what I’ve downloaded in History section.
  3. Untick Remember what I’ve downloaded, and click Ok.

You are now done with it :) .
